Each week a different twist will be added to the hop so that everyone gets to know each other better so here's my little bit of information this week.
"Why do you read the genre that you do? What draws you to it?"
I read mostly fantasy because I have always been intrigued about what might be out there and what might be possible. I love learning about how humans interact (or might interact) with wacky and crazy magical and fantastical things. My favorite subgenre of fantasy is urban fantasy because this takes the fantastical and puts in into an environment that you are familiar with. Basically urban fantasy is all about finding magic in the mundane world, rather than creating a whole new world. To be honest I find other genres to be a bit boring at times; I find when you throw some fantasy in it really makes things more exciting and surprising.
I agree with the exciting part! There are just so many more possibilities with fantasy ^.^ It really opens up the creative field.

Loving the Reviews Challenge
Hi,
ReplyDeleteJust hopping by and following through. I'm an urban Fantasy fan as well though I read an eclectic mix of genres
Shelleyrae @ Book'd Out
I read a variety of different genres though I too have my favourites which feature more than others .www.thephantomparagrapher.blogspot.com . Im a new follower and I have to say I love and I mean it I love your background :)
ReplyDeleteThough fantasy is my favorite, due to its unlimited possibilities, what I read is all over the map, as are my mind and the things that interest it. I enjoy exploring both the known and the unknown. I never enjoy reading just to learn yet I learn with everything I read.

Have a safe trip home!
I like urban fantasy as well, but I'm not as big on it as you are. Looks like you like very similar books to me though, and I am looking forward to your future reviews =)

Excellently put! I love fantasy for the possibility of everything. For the change in the norm that I live everyday. For the fun that is different and eccentric. I'm your newest follower, can't wait to see what you post next.

Hopping through. New follower!
ReplyDeleteI used to hate fantasy, but I've grown to like it quite a bit - especially paranormal, but even high fantasy which I would have hated a few years ago.
