Mailbox Monday - 6/14

Mailbox Monday can be found at: The Printed Page

Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week (checked out library books don’t count, eBooks & audio books do). Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists.

Oddly enough I didn't get much this week.  I downloaded Winter's Passage by Julie Kagawa onto my Kindle; this is a novella that takes place between The Iron King and The Iron Daughter.  I already read it and you can read my review here.  It was a great book.

I also got Cheat the Grave (The 5th Sign of the Zodiac) by Vicki Pettersson from the library.  I like this series pretty well, but the fourth book ended really weird. So I am interested to see what the author does in this book.

You can see more about these books below.  Hope you have a great week of reading :-)

Winter's Passage by Julie Kagawa
Winter's Passage
First Sentence: "In the shadows of the cave, I watched as the Hunter approached."
From Amazon.com: "Meghan Chase used to be an ordinary girl...until she discovered that she is really a faery princess. After escaping from the clutches of the deadly Iron fey, Meghan must follow through on her promise to return to the equally dangerous Winter Court with her forbidden love, Prince Ash. But first, Meghan has one request: that they visit Puck--Meghan's best friend and servant of her father, King Oberon--who was gravely injured defending Meghan from the Iron Fey.
Yet Meghan and Ash's detour does not go unnoticed. They have caught the attention of an ancient, powerful hunter--a foe that even Ash may not be able to defeat...."

Cheat the Grave (The Fifth Sign of the Zodiac) by Vicki Pettersson
Cheat the Grave (Sign of the Zodiac, Book 5)
First Sentence: "Dying isn't as painful as you might think."
From Amazon.com: "Las Vegas socialite and otherwordly avenger Joanna Archer gave up everything when she embraced mortality—abandoning her powers and altering her destiny to save a child . . . and a city. Now her former allies are her enemies—and her enemies have nothing to fear.
Yet still she is bound to a prophecy that condemns her to roam a nightmare landscape that ordinary humans cannot see and dare not enter. And a beast is on her trail—an insane killer blinded by bloodlust, who's determined to rip much more from Joanna than merely her now-fragile life. Survival is no longer an option in this dark realm where good and evil have blurred into confusing shades of gray—unless she can gather together an army of onetime foes and destroy everything she once believed in."

  2. Ooh, I can't read your review of Winter's Passage, because I still haven't finished Iron King, but it came in my mailbox early last week, and I also downloaded that novella, because I know I'm going to want it to continue!
