Teaser Tuesday - 1/5

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Teaser this week is from "Captain's Fury" (Codex of Alera, Book 4) by Jim Butcher.

Captain's Fury (Codex Alera, Book 4)

Here it is: "Tavi turned his head and clutched a hand at his chest, fingers sliding over the plates of armor. The pain wasn't physical, of course - but that made it no less real, and no less terrible." pg. 88

  1. I've never read any Jim Butcher but I've heard about him quite a bit. Sounds intriguing!

  2. It seems like I have been seeing this author around the blogosphere a lot lately. Perhaps I need to check him out further. Great teaser this week!

  3. Jim Butcher is a great writer. He is better known for his Dresden Files series featuring Harry Dresden. It is a paranormal series. This series is his epic fantasy series and less well-known but just as wonderfully written.

  4. I haven't read any books by this author, but the teaser sounds interesting, and the cover is intriguing. I'll have to check it out
