Okay "Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine.
This week my WoW book is "Kitty's House of Horrors" by Carrie Vaughn. This is book 7 in the Kitty Norville series and I have been enjoying this series a lot. Last I heard there were only seven books planned for this series, so this may be the last one. I am not sure if that has changed.
Kitty's House of Horrors (Kitty Norville, Book 7)
Pages: 336 pages
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing
Release Date: January, 2010
From Paperbackswap.com: "Talk radio host and werewolf Kitty Norville has agreed to appear on TV's first all-supernatural reality show. She's expecting cheesy competitions and manufactured drama starring shapeshifters, vampires, and psychics. But what begins as a publicity stunt will turn into a fight for her life. The cast members, including Kitty, arrive at the remote mountain lodge where the show is set. As soon as filming starts, violence erupts and Kitty suspects that the show is a cover for a nefarious plot. Then the cameras stop rolling, cast members start dying, and Kitty realizes she and her monster housemates are ironically the ultimate prize in a very different game. Stranded with no power, no phones, and no way to know who can be trusted, she must find a way to defeat the evil closing in... before it kills them all."
Sounds like a lot of crazy fun to me!
she's a radio talk show host AND a werewolf??? Sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteYeah, they've been pretty good books to read. I mean I like listening to talk radio sometimes anyway. And this is paranormal talk radio so it's pretty interesting :-) Of course, there is always a lot more that goes on in these books too!
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to read this series for ages and all books are on my tbr list. They look great!
ReplyDeleteI read the 1st 2 books in this series and didn't really get into it. I've been told that they get better, though, so maybe I'll give Kitty another shot.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I didn't like the first few books as much either. I liked them better starting with the third book. This still isn't my absolute favorite paranormal series; but it is a quick fun read. You can read my reviews of the series here.
ReplyDeleteso I should start with book three?
ReplyDeleteI have three memes happening today
I haven't read the first books in the series, so I guess I'll have to try those out first. Great pick this week
ReplyDeleteBook Dragon,
ReplyDeleteI think you would need the first two to get the background around Kitty...so it's one of those things you kind of gotta' suffer through. Although I didn't think the first two were horrible or anything...
This sounds like a bunch o' fun! It reminds me of a cross between Mercy Thompson and that sci-fi show that was canceled...what was it called again?? Oh yeah, Mad Mad House, except with supernatural beings.
ReplyDeleteI'm really curious about this story, but I'm worried that I'll need to start at the beginning and from the sounds of it, it's kind of tedious...
Really the first couple books weren't that bad; they just weren't anything special that really blew me away :-)
ReplyDeleteThe writing style used in this series actually does remind me of the Mercy Thompson series quite a bit...
